Meet Vince – People Not Products
10 March 2026
As our series of team interviews continues, here we have Vince Russell, Senior Account Manager, who started with Aspen Solutions in 2018.
Can you tell us a bit about your career journey and what led you to Aspen Solutions?
I started with Canon in February 1992 till August 2018 when I joined Aspen Solutions. I predominantly dealt with Standard Commercial clients, and when Canon shifted its focus from this sector, Aspen became the natural next step in my career. I knew the founder, Vincent Harkins, previously from Canon and it was a perfect fit for me when Aspen was awarded “preferred route to market” status by Canon. This allowed for a seamless transition for me and continued support for my client base.
What does a typical day in your role look like, and what do you enjoy most about it?
A typical day would be attending to my clients’ current needs, forward planning, talking to customers and finding ways to help companies get the most from the managed print technology available to them.
What’s been your most memorable moment or achievement at Aspen Solutions so far
My biggest achievement is moving 97% of my Canon base over to Aspen Solutions where I know they are being taken care of. It is great knowing they’re supported locally by a team that genuinely cares, and being able to continue those relationships has been a real highlight.
What skills or qualities do you think are essential for success in your role?
Good working knowledge of print and associated solutions, honesty, integrity and empathy.
How would you describe the culture at Aspen Solutions, and what makes it a great place to work?
Aspen is very much a can-do environment, with all staff encouraged to excel and reach the best they can be, with opportunities for internal promotions and additional learning for those who work hard.
What advice would you give to someone looking to build a career in your field?
Get out and canvas on foot. I believe old‑school advice that still works and keep records of everything you do.
When you’re not at work, how do you like to unwind and relax?
I am very much an outdoors person and love getting out for a walk with my dog, or really any kind of outdoor activity.
