Meet Jamie – People Not Products
19 May 2025
Here we have our colleague and Sales Manager, Jamie Florence, in our series of People Not Products team interviews. Check out the interview below on his career and things he’s learned along the way.
1) What does a typical day in your role look like, and what do you enjoy most about it?
Checking my emails and calls/meetings set. It will shape my day and I prioritise from there. Being available for the sales team and offering advice when needed is a good part of what I enjoy.
2) What’s been your most memorable moment or achievement at Aspen Solutions so far? I would say that coming into Aspen with little knowledge in the MSP/Reseller side and working my way up to Sales Manager a few years ago is something I am quite proud of.
3) What skills or qualities do you think are essential for success in your role?
Leadership, hardworking, adaptable and an understanding that communication is key for just about everything in the job.
4) How would you describe the culture at Aspen Solutions, and what makes it a great place to work?
The culture at Aspen Solutions is fantastic. There are many good people working here and we all look out for each other, very much a family type environment. All friendly but hard workers too! We have regular company get-togethers also that always have a good turn out.
5) What advice would you give to someone looking to build a career in your field?
The IT/MSP industry has so many career paths to choose from and most of them can be crossed over into the other. There is a lot to learn which keeps you engaged and interested in any role you may go for. Sales is such a varied job and can be rewarding as well. I highly recommend getting into the sector for the options it brings.
6) When you’re not at work, how do you like to unwind and relax?
Not sure it’s classed as relaxing, but a round of golf is something I try and enjoy! Watching football and a trip to the cinema are usually in that category though.
