Meet Megan Griffin – People Not Products

4 November 2026

Megan at Aspen Solutions IT Support office in Glasgow

Our People Not Products interview series continues with Megan! Having joined Aspen Solutions in October 2024 as a Business Support Administrator, Megan discusses what drew her to our team, and her highlights of working with us as we evolve into new sectors including hospitality.

Tell us a little about your career journey and how you came to work at Aspen.

My main experience is in Administration, supported by some experience in reception and more finance-based roles. I also hold a degree in Computer Networking and have around seven years of experience working as a makeup artist. After trying to pursue makeup full-time, I decided to return to the administration side, as it was a better fit for me financially and career-wise.

I joined Aspen Solutions in October 2024 as a Business Support Administrator. What attracted me to Aspen was the combination of administration and IT. Having my degree in Computer Networking, I liked the idea of working in an environment where I could draw on some of that technical knowledge while building on my administrative experience. Since returning from maternity leave at the beginning of 2026, my role has evolved into a Shared Services Commercial Coordinator, with additional responsibilities that have allowed me to continue learning and developing.

What does a typical day look like for you, and what do you enjoy most about your role?

No two days are quite the same! I support a variety of teams with everything from sales quoting and order processing to deal validation and procurement and also some credit control. I enjoy the variety and problem-solving involved, as well as learning new things and taking on additional responsibilities.

Can you tell us about a project or achievement you’re particularly proud of?

One project that stands out was my first project at Aspen Solutions, supporting a large connectivity project that involved coordinating multiple orders across different sites and working through challenges along the way. It definitely felt like being thrown in at the deep end at times, but I honestly learned so much from the experience. More recently, I’ve taken on additional responsibilities on the Hospitality side of the business, becoming more hands-on with the day-to-day running of this area. It’s been a great opportunity to broaden my knowledge, develop my problem-solving skills and take on more ownership within the business.

What skills or qualities do you think are most important in your role?

Organisation, communication, and attention to detail are all really important. You also need to be adaptable, as priorities can change quickly, and be willing to work with different teams to find solutions and keep things moving.

What do you enjoy most about working at Aspen Solutions, and what makes it a great place to work?

For me, it’s the people. Having a supportive team makes such a difference, and I really enjoy working with the people at Aspen Solutions. The opportunities to develop and progress, the variety in my role and the flexibility available are all great bonuses too.

What advice would you give to someone starting their career or joining Aspen Solutions?

Don’t be afraid to ask questions, get involved and take on new challenges. You don’t need to know everything straight away, and there’s always something new to learn. Being open to opportunities can help you develop more than you might expect. Also, there isn’t one straight path you have to take, my experience is extremely varied and there’s been twists and turns in my journey, but I wouldn’t change it at all.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Outside of work, I enjoy all things beauty, spending time with my daughter Sophia and having some time to relax at home. It’s nice to switch off and enjoy some family time when I’m not working or make myself feel better with some makeup or pampering.
